SEP/OCT 2016: 24/09 & 01/10 WEEKEND ROUND UP'S

Saturday the 24th of September saw all our sides in action. Only the A team playing at home vs a good side in Warlingham A, the end result was the visitors winning 1-4. The 2 away fixtures saw the first XI take on Long Lane Res, Nomads met this side last year in the cup and came away 4-2 winners. It was another tough clash with the boys digging in to be 2-3 victors on the day that's 3 wins out of 3 in KCFL div 2. Elsewhere the reserves also looking to keep an 100% record. It stayed in tact defeating Woodmansterne Hyde Res 1-2. The reserves are on an 11 game unbeaten run winning 9 of those and dating back to the 2nd of April 2016.

Saturday the 1st of October was a big day at home our first and reserve teams were both still unbeaten in the league and hoping to keep it that way, the first kick off was the KCFL DIV 2 clash Nomads FC up against London based Johnson & Phillips FC, to be honest the boys didn't play there best game, manager Mike marshall with a thin squad due to injuries got it tactically right edging the game 1-0, the team showed great character. On pitch 2 kicking off 15 minutes later the Reserves hosted a decent AFC Hamsey Rangers side who were looking to bounce back from a tight defeat the previous weekend. Again I have to say the boys really didn't play there game, with a host of players missing manager Ross Davies didn't have many tricks up his sleeve, that trick had to be used about 60 seconds into the game when Nomads reserve goalkeeper James Haywood took a nasty blow to the nose and had to come off. The game ended a tight scoreline with Hamsey winning 2-3 but deserved victors on the day, we lick our wounds and look to avenge our loss at their place. The clubs away fixture was the A team away to last season's Redhill premier side Brockham. The A team fought to the end and were unlucky not to come away with a point, the away side edged the game 3-2.
